Stay in the New Star Wars Hotel
Walt Disney World is always a vacation destination for families or even just a couple looking to let their hair down and have fun. Whether you’re just re-experiencing your childhood and reminiscing on all your favorite characters, or you’re letting your child experience it all for the very first time, Walt Disney World is always a great choice to spend your vacation. But if you’re a self-proclaimed Star Wars nerd, Disney World is about to get a whole lot better. At the D23 Expo, an event for all Disney freaks, they announced their plans to open up a brand new Star Wars hotel inside of Disney World.
Are you serious?
Yes, we’re serious. If you didn’t know already, which let’s be honest, you know, you’re a Star Wars nerd, Disney World and Disneyland are both opening an entire theme park devoted to Star Wars called Star Wars: Galaxy Edge which we now know will include its very own hotel for you to stay. The parks are about fourteen acres in size, so there is plenty of space for you to explore all of your favorite Star Wars fantasy. This also marks the biggest expansion in either Disneyland or Disney World and let us say, Star Wars deserves this amount of space.
So what makes this hotel so special?
Well first off, you will get to interact with the likes of R2D2 and BB8, as well as get in costume and ride a starship. THat sounds cool, right?
But wait, there’s more! You will also get to fly the Millennium Falcon. Yeah, seriously! You will fly the frickin’ Millennium Falcon and not just to the grocery store, but you will engage in a battle.
Visitors will be given their own multi-day quests for them to embark on throughout the entire Galaxy Edge theme park and after a long day of using the force, they can kick back and relax at the famous Mos Eisley Cantina where they can drink blue milk and milkshakes.
Alright, I’m all packed. Let’s go!
Wait, not so fast. As awesome as this hotel and theme park sounds, it is not open yet.
The hotel was just announced but in actuality, it will not open until the year 2019. Even though Star Wars happened a long, long time ago the hotel is happening in the future. The good news is that it is no longer in a galaxy far away, it’s in Orlando!
So if you’re one of those people that can repeat every line of dialogue from every single Star Wars film and you go to Disneyland or Disney World just to ride Star Tours over and over again then prepare to live out your dream as you truly become a part of the Star Wars universe. On the other hand, if you’re just a casual fan of the franchise, prepare to knock that fandom up a couple of notches as you enter the completely immersive experience that is the Star Wars hotel.
