Regardless of the time of year, North Georgia is a popular destination for those looking to escape the humdrum of daily life. This part of the state is ideal for a weekend getaway because of its natural beauty and abundance of things to do. Here are five must visit locations that will give you plenty of things to do and see.

Helen 

This North Georgia mountain hamlet with its Bavarian architecture and vibe is irresistible. The town looks like something out of a fairy tale, and it’s filled with quirky stores and activities that are fun any time of year. Enjoy a summertime tube ride through the heart of town, and then return for the Oktoberfest celebration, complete with live music, traditional German food, and lots of beer. Ellijay 

Ellijay is located in the beautiful North Georgia highlands and hosts the annual Georgia Apple Festival every fall. Tallulah Gorge and Falls

The park has space for 47 different types of camping vehicles. North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains 

Less than 100 miles north of Atlanta, Blue Ridge is a wonderful location any time of year.
