It’s summertime and the feeling is good, so let’s find the hotspots for 2017. Vacations are different for everyone, but if you are like me and suffer from some serious FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) then you need to know what’s HOT! Where are all the Instagram influencers going this summer, where do I need to be if I want to be part of the IN crowd? Not to worry homie, I got you. I found the five hottest summer vacation destinations to keep you on top of the trends.

All the cool kids are headed to Greece this summer as the country makes a huge push in travel marketing to help fix the struggling economy. It’s true, Greece has fallen on hard times recently but that is actually helping out travelers, as the deals have never been better. Sure the ancient ruins are fun, but if you want to be part of the IN crowd, head to one of Greece’s many hot islands like Mykonos or Santorini. The weather is perfect, the water is crystal clear and the locals are so welcoming and friendly, Greece will be all over Instagram this summer.

South Africa

South Africa is quickly becoming a hot travel destination this summer, mainly for its wide range of outrageous activities. The country has been becoming a hotspot for the rich and famous and recently has made a strong push in its tourism and brand marketing. The country features amazing beaches, respected wine regions, incredible wildlife and safaris, enough to keep even the insanely rich busy for summer. Trust me, you won’t want to miss this.

Croatia

Croatia is no longer the best-kept secret in lavish vacation travel sorry Europe, your secret is out. Brits have been flocking to this Eastern European country for years with cheap deals and incredible beach destinations. The water is a great temperature for water sports and the alcohol just seems to flow here. Expect some wild posts from the richest Instagrammers you follow. Croatia has been labeled as a safe place for terrorism by authorities, so that’s always a plus.

Italy

Everyone wants to visit Italy this summer and the bookings have been off the charts. Expect plenty of Instagram posts from Italy this summer from all your favorite Instagram celebrities. The country is always a popular travel spot but this summer seems to be extra fashionable. What’s not to love? The food, the wine, the people, the atmosphere and the incredible scenery, Italy has it all. Expect the Italian Mediterranean to be extra packed this summer with yachts and cruise ships.

Stay Safe from the Summer Sun

We’ll share insights, hassle free tricks and clear up some common misunderstandings about sunscreen.

Summer is here everyone and so is the intense sun so it’s about that time that we talk about how important sunscreen is.   There are certain things about sunscreen that we all should know and we made this helpful list to inform the masses. We’ll share insights, hassle free tricks and clear up some common misunderstandings about sunscreen.

No Skimping

It’s important to get sunscreen on every part of skin that gets sunlight, which includes your hairline, scalp and ears. Dermatologists see skin cancer pop up in these spots more often than any other. That’s a direct reflection of how people often skimp in these danger zones.

Anti-ager

Sunscreen doesn’t only keep you from getting torched by the summer sun; it also acts as an anti-ager. Yes, sunscreen makes you look younger, awesome! No need to get Botox injections, instead just use some facial sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher everyday, even on a cloudy day. Sun exposure really messes up your skin especially after years of neglecting sunscreen. If you want healthy looking and feeling skin for years, just use sunscreen.

Tan equals damage

Remember that no matter how pretty your tan is it is still skin damage. The sun’s rays are powerful and no amount of base tan will help you out. Keep SPF on anytime you go into the sun, just to be safe.

SPF Sprays are good

Don’t worry about spray tans not covering you; as long as you follow the instructions, the spray actually does its job. I do the 1:3 rule, that’s spraying 1-inch from the skin and I make 3 passes with the spray.

Higher SPF the Better

The SPF is usually much lower than it’s marked because of user error. I tend to go with an SPF around 50 because when using a SPF of 30 it’s really only about 15. We usually don’t apply a thick enough layer to actually get the listed SPF.

Umbrellas don’t have SPF

Umbrellas may block some of the sun’s harmful rays but more UV rays make it through than you think. That’s why umbrellas are never substitutes for good old-fashioned sunscreen. Umbrellas are great, don’t get me wrong, but they need to be used along with sunscreen instead of replacing it.

Baseball caps are not great

Sure baseball caps block the sun from your eyes, but they do nothing for the rest of your head and neck, which is why a sun hat is exponentially better.

Rash guards

Stop wearing a white T-shirt to keep the sun off of your tender skin and try a rash guard instead. Did you know that a white T-shirt only has an SPF of 7 and when that shirt gets wet it drops the number to 3. Wow, that’s not very good, so now you’ll understand why rash guards are the way to go. They have sun protection built in and won’t make your skin break out from friction.

Skin cancer

Just using sunscreen won’t guarantee anyone from not getting sun damage or cancer; it will only help prevent it.

Just use sunscreen and you won’t have to worry about all the negative effects the sun can and will have on your body.
