The Heart & Soul Of The CounterCulture Revolution: Woodstock

Hundreds of thousands gathered near a dairy farm in the Catskill Mountains (northwest of New York City) on a rainy weekend to enjoy the festival that was Woodstock. The “concert” that occurred in 1969 (and only officially in 1969), has become a pivotal moment in pop music history. It was considered to be the nexus of the counterculture generation. But, we’re sure you already knew that. It’s possible that you were even there!

Between August 15 and 17th, over 32 acts performed in Bethel, New York. Some attendees included: Santana, the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, The Who, Joe Cocker, Ten Years After, and Jimi Hendrix. Somehow, the acts that were unable to make it or declined the invitation are also just as amazing: Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, as well as The Rolling Stones. Imagine the result if all the invited artists were able and chose to attend… mind blown…

Let’s take a step back in time and appreciate a few busy photos of the concert and the culture that defined the counterculture generation.
