Key Tips For RV Maintenance

Published

on

Just as we need to perform regular maintenance on our cars, we also need to perform regular maintenance on our RVs. This is true whether you are a full-timer, a snow bird or a weekend adventurer. As with our cars, neglect of regular RV maintenance tasks can lead to, at best, disappointment. At worst, RV maintenance neglect can lead to costly repairs.

Regular Maintenance Tasks

The first place to look for information on the specific tasks needed for your RV is your owner’s manual. The owner’s manual will delineate the different maintenance tasks and intervals for each. The following are some maintenance tasks for everything from a diesel pusher to a camper trailer.

Roof – Check and carefully spray clean the roof at regular intervals. You will be looking for places where the sealant seams have given way and could fail. Repairing roof seams can save you a big bill on costly interior damage. Treat rubber roofs yearly.

Tires – Tires need to be checked and aired before every adventure. The air pressure in your tires can fluctuate with elevation. Check for uneven wear patterns.

Under the Hood – Oil changes, fuel and air filter replacements, brake and battery checks and maintenance are all part of the same types of maintenance your car requires.

Clean and Flush Tanks – The freshwater and greywater tanks require a bleach and water solution flush twice yearly. Keep the blackwater tank flushed just before it gets full.

Seals and Door Hinges – Operate and lube moving parts, such as awnings, slide-outs, hydraulic jacks and door hinges.

Take It for a Drive – Take your RV out to keep the battery and oils from stagnating.

RV Water Heater – Clean out the water heater chamber and check the anode for wear.

What Do I Do if an Appliance Goes on the Fritz?

Eventually, your RV appliances will fail. You can either DIY, such as replacing the anode on your water heater, have a mobile mechanic sent out or take your RV into a shop for repair. It all is dependent upon where you are, your skill level and what is in your immediate vicinity. Obviously, the costs will be higher for a mobile mechanic. Check to see if you are still under warranty before forking out any of your own cash for a repair, though.

Preventing Roof Leaks or Dealing With the One That Already Occurred

If you have sprayed your roof clean regularly, checked and re-caulked seams that were cracking or failing and done your yearly treatment for your rubber roof, that is a portion of the battle of preventing roof deterioration.

If you have a fiberglass or metal roof, you can coat it with an elastomeric sealer when it gets long in the tooth. Elastomeric sealers come in white or gray and reflect heat as well as sealing your roof. It is an easy DIY, as long as you feel comfortable on the roof. You can apply it with a long pole and roller. You will need to clean the roof first, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.

You can repair larger roof seam issues with products like Dicor and EternaBond for permanent repairs.

Does RV Insurance Cover Maintenance or Repairs?

Your RV insurance primarily is required to cover your liability in an accident. This ensures that another party will receive compensation if you are at fault in an accident. You also can add endorsements that can cover your losses in the event you cause an accident. Some of the typical endorsements of benefit to RVers are:

Uninsured Motorist – Covers your losses if someone hits you and flees or has no insurance

Collision – Repairs your RV when you are at fault

Comprehensive – Covers your non-collision losses, such as from theft, weather or animal damage

Personal Belongings – Covers the items you carry inside of your trailer if they are stolen or damaged

You will need to shop around for the insurer who will cover your RV with insurance that has the endorsements you desire to protect your investment.

It is a bit more work to be an RV owner. Establishing a maintenance routine and carrying insurance coverage to keep your investment in sound shape will afford you many years of happy adventures on the road wherever you choose to set up camp.

Get Paid to Vacation in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Wait, did I hear that correctly? The government of the U.S. Virgin Islands is offering free money to people to visit their beautiful beaches? The U.S. Virgin Islands want you to vacation there real bad. Like, “We’ll give you $300 to come over” bad. As is the case with most $300 offers, though, there are a few catches.  Ah, the catches, and I’m not talking about the catch of the day, I’m talking about caveats.  Of course there is a catch, no one is giving away free money for nothing, this isn’t a Dire Straits song.

http://www.funjet.com/destinations/us-virgin-islands

For those of us who are unfamiliar with the USVI, imagine any dream you had about a deserted island, that’s the Virgin Islands. They’re a group of Caribbean islands that became a United States territory in 1917 after the U.S. bought them from Denmark. Every year, the USVI celebrate that transfer of power on “Transfer Day,” a.k.a. March 31. So if you must know why anyone would need to offer someone $300 to take an island vacation in a tropical paradise, the reason is simply that it’s a celebration. This year marks the islands’ 100-year anniversary as a territory, so their tourism department is offering cash to people who plan to come to the island in 2017 in celebration of the milestone. Seems like a pretty sweet deal for anyone looking for a warm getaway in the harsh wintry months, no?

Here’s the catch: You can’t spend the $300 on whatever you want. If you book your 2017 trip through the U.S. Virgin Islands website, you get $300 in credits for vacation activities, which is good news if you’re the type of tourist who can blow three bills on frozen drinks at the poolside bar. The activities include things like “eco-tours, museums, food tours, and kayaking adventures,” as Thrillist reports. Free food? We are here for it.

So you don’t actually get paid in cash but instead in travel vouchers, that’s still not too bad.  You can only spend them in the Virgin Islands so don’t expect an influx of capital flowing in from the Caribbean.

The credits are physical papers and can be used at any participating location. You can get a list of those by checking out the tourism board’s website, or you can just be super chill, show up and see where the island takes you. (Probably plan ahead, though. Just sayin’.)

A round trip plane ticket to the USVI costs around $200 from Miami if you play your flight cards right. So if you can see yourself sunning on a tropical beach, fanning yourself with $300 worth of vouchers, get booking, people.

Yea, thats $300 per person, so you see how many people are in your group and multiply, thats a lot of resort activities that are completely free.  I expect to see the lot of you in Hawaiian shirts trying your hand at jetskiing or sailing.  It’s not often that you get paid to go on vacation so i advise you to hop on this deal before its gone and yo are left paying for your own fun like a real jerk.

The idea that our planet is changing is scary and it affects everyone. Global warming is happening at alarming rates, affecting sea levels and endangering some very special places. Humans in general are destroying the planet we live on and if we aren’t careful, we will lose some pretty amazing things. So what does this mean to travel, well, some of our planet’s greatest treasures are slowly disappearing.

Oceans are overtaking islands, glaciers are melting, ancient ruins are being weakened by pollution and whole cities are sinking. If any of these 7 amazing locations are on your bucket list, you better hurry up and check them out, because you never know, soon they may be gone.

Venice, Italy

Long heralded as the most romantic city on the planet, Venice may soon be completely uninhabitable. The city is known for its interconnecting waterways that carve through the entire city and make it accessible by boat.

Slowly sinking, the city has been reporting severe flooding more and more each year. Scientists theorize that the entire city may be under water like the mystical city of Atlantis by the end of the century.  Global warming is slowly killing this wonderful city.

The City has been trying to slow the sinking by shoring up structures and building underwater reinforcements, but these fixes won’t last forever.

If you want to take a romantic gondola ride through the canals of Venice, Italy, you had better get on it, because who knows how long it will be above water.

Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands are some of the most untouched nature preserves on the planet but unfortunately the islands are dying through years of tourism and ecological dilapidation. Poaching of animals is a serious problem here where sea life is incredibly diverse but also delicate. The ecosystems are being destroyed and the environmental disaster is only beginning. Many of the islands are much worse off than they were just 10 years ago. The special bionetwork will never recover and may eventually be absolutely ruined.

The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is known for it’s high levels of salt and the waters have substantial rejuvenation properties. Many people visit here for relief for psoriasis and arthritis, but soon the entire Dead Sea may be gone. The bordering countries have been slowly borrowing water from the River Jordan, the Dead Sea’s main tributary.   Slowly shrinking, the Dead Sea has dropped 80 feet and its volume is down a third. Scientists believe the sea will be gone in 50 years. Book your flights soon, or else it may be literally the Dead Sea.

Taj Mahal

The great Taj Mahal, one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World, may soon be too dilapidated for visitors.   Built in the 17th century by Emperor Shah Jahan as a gift to his wife, the Taj Mahal has 3 million tourists a year and this influx of people has seriously hurt the monument.   The building’s structural integrity has begun to be an issue due to air pollution, human traffic, global warming and poor maintenance. Soon the Taj Mahal will stop allowing guest inside and will all but kill the attraction.

Athabasca Glacier

The ancient glacier is a relic from the ice age and is the most visited glacier in North America. The spectacular glacier is quickly melting and has already receded almost a mile.  Global warming is the clear culprit in this iconic landmarks demise.  Scientists believe the glacier may fully disappear within 75 years. Located in Alberta, Canada, the glacier comes from the Columbia Ice Field and is simply one of the most beautiful natural sights.

The Seychelles

Possibly the most perfect beach location on the planet, The Seychelles Archipelago is a group of 115 island in the Indian Ocean. Often referred to as paradise on earth, these amazing islands are in real danger due to global warming. The rising sea levels and their coral reef destruction are making these islands vulnerable. Some scientists believe that the entire island chain could be fully submerged within 70 years. That’s a huge bummer as The Seychelles is at the top of my bucket list, as I want to see the island chains beauty before it’s too late.

Hurry up and see these amazing places before it’s too late.  Global warming is happening at alarming rates and if we don’t do something soon, our planet will be lost.  Make a change locally that affects everyone globally and be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Exploring the Role of Massage Oil in Fostering Intimacy in Relationships

Published

on

By

In the journey of fostering profound intimacy, there are many paths that couples can traverse. One such path, often overlooked, is the use of massage oil. Incorporating massage oil into your routine can evoke an unparalleled level of closeness and connection with your partner, heightening both your physical and emotional senses.

The use of massage oil is not merely about the physical act of applying oil and conducting a massage. It’s a comprehensive experience that begins with selecting the oil, involves a personal, hands-on connection, and ends with a mutual feeling of satisfaction and relaxation. This ritual can be a significant bonding experience, allowing couples to explore each other’s bodies, communicate desires, and foster a deeper emotional connection.

Pure Romance offers a range of massage oils crafted to enhance this intimate experience. Their oils are designed with couples in mind, making them an excellent addition to any intimacy-building routine.

The Sensory Experience of Massage Oil

The power of massage oil extends beyond the tactile experience. It also encompasses a sensory journey that can play a significant role in boosting intimacy between couples. Massage oils often come in a variety of scents, each capable of evoking different emotions and responses. From invigorating citrus to calming lavender, the choice of scent can significantly influence the overall massage experience.

Pure Romance’s massage oil line embraces this concept wholeheartedly. Their variety of scents can cater to various moods and preferences, offering couples the ability to tailor their experience to their liking. The sensory allure of these oils is not to be underestimated. They have the potential to create an environment conducive to open communication, shared pleasure, and the strengthening of emotional bonds.

The Wellness Aspect of Massage Oil

Wellness and intimacy are two facets of life that are often considered separately. However, they are more interwoven than one might think, especially when it comes to the use of massage oil. The physical act of massage not only alleviates tension but can also contribute to overall wellness. The simple act of giving or receiving a massage can foster a sense of well-being, further strengthening the intimate connection between partners.

Pure Romance’s philosophy aligns perfectly with this concept. They believe in promoting wellness as a path to happiness, with their range of massage oils serving as an excellent tool to achieve this goal. By using these products, couples are not just investing in their relationship but also in their overall wellness.

Mastering the Art of Massage

When it comes to utilizing massage oil to its fullest potential, mastering the art of massage can make all the difference. A good massage technique allows for the oil to permeate the skin, soothing muscles, and stimulating the senses, all while fostering a sense of closeness and vulnerability.

Pure Romance’s oils are thoughtfully designed to complement a variety of massage techniques. With their smooth texture and perfect consistency, they facilitate an effortless glide over the skin, making every massage a pleasurable experience for both the giver and receiver. And while the mastery of massage techniques can be a journey of learning and practice, the comfort and intimacy that this shared activity offers can be an invaluable addition to a couple’s bonding repertoire.

Setting the Mood with Massage Oil

The environment in which a massage takes place is just as important as the massage itself. A well-crafted ambiance can transform a simple massage into an intimate ritual, enhancing the overall experience. This can be achieved through various elements such as lighting, music, temperature, and of course, the scent of the massage oil.

Pure Romance’s line of massage oils cater to this need for ambiance, offering scents that can create a variety of atmospheres, from relaxing to invigorating. Coupled with a warm, dimly lit room and some soft background music, a massage with these oils can transcend the realm of the physical, promoting a deep emotional connection.

Massage Oil as a Tool for Communication

The beauty of using massage oil in a relationship is that it not only facilitates physical intimacy but also promotes open communication. By taking the time to understand your partner’s preferences – the pressure they enjoy, their favorite scent, the areas they want to be massaged – you’re actively engaging in non-verbal communication, which is an essential part of any relationship.

Pure Romance’s selection allows couples to communicate their preferences and explore new avenues together. This, in turn, creates a deeper understanding, fostering a sense of closeness that goes beyond the physical.

The use of massage oil is about more than just relaxation; it is about connection, communication, and mutual pleasure. By incorporating this practice into their routine, couples can enhance their relationship, fostering an intimate bond that extends beyond the physical. With Pure Romance’s carefully crafted range of massage oils, this practice becomes even more enriching, offering a path to a deeper, more fulfilling relationship.
