Don’t throw money down the toilet on a Caribbean vacation. Get the best bang for your buck by staying at these sneaky cheap all-inclusive resorts.

Published

Hey, even the most frugal people still want to go to the Bahamas! It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world and is an absolutely perfect vacation destination. But it can be sneaky expensive. So you have to be careful to not waste too much money while on vacation there.

Lucky for you, we found the best and cheapest all-inclusive results in all of the Bahamas! So scroll through and find the one that’s right for you and whoever you may be heading to the Caribbean with!

HOTEL RIU PALACE PARADISE ISLAND

This wonderful hotel finds itself at the top of our list for one simple reason: it’s the closest all-inclusive resort to the capital of the Bahamas, Nassau. Which obviously has plenty of benefits! The hotel also boasts 24-hour room service, fulling stocked minibars, actual liquor dispensers and plenty of entertainment and awesome buffets nightly.

It’s also right next to the monster resort that is Atlantis, which has plenty of nightclubs and casinos that are open to non-guests. And while being next to Atlantis and Nassau certainly make it one of the least quiet resorts on our list, the convenience of being so close to so many cool attractions make it all worth it.

BREEZES RESORT & SPA BAHAMAS

Breezes Resort is located on one of the most popular beaches in all of Nassau, Cable Beach. It’s not the most beautiful resort in the Bahamas, with some fairly uninspired interior design, but many of the units do have direct beach access, which is of course wonderful. And, if you go for the all-inclusive packages, you’ll have access to free snacks, meals, drinks, and even recreational activities on the daily.

Not to mention, this place has four bars and five restaurants! You basically never need to leave the premises. Which, on a vacation, can be just downright lovely.

MELIA NASSAU BEACH

What makes this resort so special is the six specialty restaurants and bars their guests have access to. They all offer their own unique flavors and styles, which makes staying at the resort for every meal fun and exciting. The resort is also perfectly nestled right on another of Nassau’s best beaches making for the perfect Caribbean vacation.

And if you’re the gambling type, they also have an awesome casino that is perfect for gambling away your vacation!

SANDALS EMERALD BAY GOLF, TENNIS AND SPA RESORT

I think the proof is in the title with this wonderful all-inclusive Bahamas resort. It’s not exactly one of the cheapest options in the Bahamas, but you really can get some serious bang for your buck. They have seven restaurants of varying cuisines, lots of pools, an 18-hole golf course, and plenty of tennis courts to keep their guests busy. And, naturally, they have plenty of fantastic cocktails that come with the package and keep the party going as long as you like.

VIVA WYNDHAM FORTUNA BEACH

If you’re looking to hit the Caribbean with your family then this is the all-inclusive resort for you! There are certainly still plenty of options for adults (see: alcohol), but this place has the best family-friendly activities. Specifically, they offer a bunch of awesome water sports like kayaking, windsurfing, and paddle boarding. And if you just want to eat good food and lounge around, there are multiple wonderful restaurants in the resort and their beach is full of comfortable beach furniture.

STELLA MARIS RESORT CLUB

OK… this is it, folks. If you’re really looking to save as much money as possible while having as much fun the Bahamas as possible, then look no further than Stella Maris Resort Club. This place is perfectly secluded and only has 45 rooms. So it’s great for a quieter Caribbean vacation as well.

As for their all-inclusive package, it can include such amenities as three meals and three drinks per day (in addition to wine with dinner!), kayaking, cave exploration, boat trips, hikes and nature walks, and beautiful bike rides. What else do you need, people?!

Best Alternative Parking Options at the Airport

Published

on

In 2016, US airports made $3.5 billion in parking fees alone.

Whilst that’s great for the airports, it’s not so great for us poor fools who have to pay to park.

The good news is that there are alternative parking options that you can use instead to save yourself some money.

Read on to learn more.

Hotel Parking

If you’re staying at an airport hotel, you may be able to get extended parking.

Parking at the hotel will usually work out cheaper than using the airport parking, and most hotels will offer a shuttle service from the hotel to the airport too.

This isn’t really cost-effective if you don’t have an overnight stay, but if you do, it’s well worth considering.

Off-Site Parking

You can save a small fortune by parking at sites a short distance from the airport.

Off-site parking companies will offer much more competitive rates, and many of them will also offer an airport shuttle service to get you to and from the airport. It’s a much better option than paying a fortune for a spot at the airport.

You can read on here more about how off-site parking works.

Parking Apps

There are plenty of apps out there that can help you save money on airport parking.

These apps will give you information on what parking options are available both at the airport and nearby. They will often offer discounted prices for both airport and off-site parking too.

Take a look on your app store of choice and try and few of them out to see which you like.

Parking Promotions

Airports and other parking companies will often offer promotions and discounts that can save you a huge amount on your parking.

Check out the airport website to see if they have any offers available. There may also be some discounts or offers available when you book your flight.

If you can’t find any discounts at the airport itself, see if you can find any offers for off-site parking.

Park Long Term

It sounds crazy, but the longer you park, the cheaper things get. If you’re going away for some time, you may be able to find some serious discounts on your parking for a long-term stay.

Obviously we don’t recommend this unless it’s absolutely necessary as even discounted long-term parking can end up costing you an arm and a leg, but if you are going to need your spot for some time, you should be able to find some competitive prices.

Are You Looking for Alternative Parking at the Airport?

If you’re looking for alternative parking at the airport, then we hope this list has been of some use.

Remember that there are always alternatives to the extortionate prices that some airports charge.

For more useful content like this, be sure to have a good look around the rest of the site.

The travel world lost a legend this past weekend when Malta’s famed Azure Window collapsed after a storm.   The awe inspiring natural rock arch was destroyed by a heavy storm causing it to collapse into the ocean. Devastating to the locals, as this was a huge tourist attraction. You may recognize the famous arch form movies and television. The arch was featured in the first episode of the hugely popular HBO show Game of Thrones.

A geological study was performed in 2013 and it found that erosion was inevitable but there was no danger of the structure collapsing. Recently the arch introducing fines for people who walked on the arch, as it’s structural integrity was weakening placed signs. This didn’t stop tourist s=from venturing across the archway and onto the jutting rock formation. This wasn’t the cause of its demise though; major storms have been wreaking havoc on the island of Gozo, where the formation is located.

BEFORE

AFTER

An eyewitness form a local town reported seeing violent waves crashing all the way up the Azure Window’s arch and suddenly it was gone.  Gale force winds were reported and the ferry company that brings tourists to the site shut down operations for the day because the weather was so bad. Storms in recent years have been getting worse and worse across the globe as global warming increases. It seems like every year we hear weathercasters forecast the biggest storm in history. That’s not a good sign that the largest and most violent storms ever recorded keep happening, year in and tear out. What can we expect in the near future as wild storms rage across the planet. Hurricanes are reaching record levels every year as well are tsunamis and the Far East.

Scientists predict that weather will only continue to get worse as Mother Nature continues to strike back at us for polluting her water, land and air.

Local residents flocked to the site after word of its collapse hit town. The Azure Window was one of Malta’s biggest tourist attractions and brought in millions of dollars respectively each year.

Could tourism be responsible for the landmark’s demise? Sure, it could have had something to do with it but as we have learned over and over again, if we piss Mother Nature off enough, she will strike back with furious anger. Nature is extremely powerful and everyone who visited this landmark could easily see that its future did not look bright. The brittle limestone that was its base is known for collapsing, so it was only a matter of time. Tourists have been seen jumping off the rock formation into the ocean, often dislodging rocks in their path. Although these rocks have no structural relevance so it’s probably not an issue.

The world is in mourning for a wonderful natural phenomenon that has been taken back by nature. Mother Nature gives and obviously she takes away, I’m just glad that so many of us got to enjoy the majesty of Azure Window.

Luckily there is a lesser-known rock window near by in Wied il-Mielah, so check that out if you are meandering around Malta with no rock formation to look at.

Whether you are a seasoned traveler or a first time flyer, a good checklist is always a good choice. I was taught that making lists are important when packing so you don’t forget something very important, so it’s good practice. Some may say that they travel all the time so they don’t need to make a list and that the person who always forgets something, always. It’s better to take a few minutes and make a simple packing list, keep it with your printed out itinerary and you should be good to go.

So you are planning some international travel or maybe just flying to the beach for a quick vacation, either way, this checklist should help.

Before You Go

These are the most important things to do before you travel, trust me, we’ve been all over the map and made mistake so you don’t have to.

If you are traveling internationally make sure to check to see what the entry requirements are so you aren’t left filling out visa applications at the airport. I would check on these requirements at least a few months prior to your trip. Many countries have strict travel rules so you may have to file for a visa early. South Africa for example require travelers to have two completely clear pages in your passport to gain entry, that’s definitely something you need prior to flying.   A new passport takes up to three months so check ahead of time to save you some trouble.

Plan out your flight outfit in advance with security in mind. You don’t want something that isn’t easy to take off including shoes and clothing. Avoid heavy belts, big jewelry and lots of metal. I like slip-on shoes and workout gear so I’m comfortable and easy to pass through security.

Obviously buy your tickets in advance, make sure you pick a good seat and have your boarding pass printed out. The less stuff you have to do at the airport the better, it’s always so crazy there.

Carry on

Your carry on bag should contain everything you will need while at the airport, on the plane and some “Just in case” items. I like to keep all my entertainment items here and easily reached for in flight. Don’t forget to place any liquid items in the clear plastic bag for security checkpoints.

“Just in case’ items are important if your bag is lost. These are usually a change of clothing, including underwear. You don’t want to be stuck with just the clothing on your back, trust me. Also pack a jacket if the weather has any chance of being bad.

Pack all your valuables in your carry on bags. Don’t ever put any electronics or jewelry in your checked bags.

Checked baggage

Pack light people, let’s not get too crazy here. You don’t need to bring everything you own, which I see all the time. Plan out your trip by choosing multiple outfits that can be worn a few times. Layers are also important because they can be mixed and matched to create many outfits with only a few items of clothing.

Plan ahead your activities so you know if you need a bathing suit or snow gear, you get it. Pack all your toiletries and larger liquids like shampoo.

Paperwork

Do you have all your important documents like passport, ID, tickets, visa information etc…? Do you need a proof of vaccines document? Make sure, some countries require these upon entry. I keep a document with all these in it and it’s always on me. Rental car info, hotel reservations and other important confirmation numbers should be easily accessible.

Best of luck with your travel, but with this simple checklist, you won’t need any luck because you will be so prepared.
